Wow this is a first I ever heard. Perhaps they have some sort of mental issues, or are playing the Crazy card, and are getting a free pass.

Openly converting to another religion but not disfellowshipped
by R Franz Ferdinand III inodd.... friends of mine recently became members of an evangelical church.. up until they got baptised in this church, they still were visiting the jw meetings on a regular basis.they weren't really fading in the true sense of the word.. they came out of the closet about their new conviction quite publicly and even didn't shy away from getting in debate with the elders on biblical topics.. the elders are obviously very aware about their position and as they still were attending the meetings not so long ago, they clearly can be considered as people associated with the jw organisation.. as far as i know it seems they won't get disfellowshipped.
as long my friends don't harrass fellow witnesses with their 'renegade ideas' and 'false religion', elders seem to comply and leave things as they are.. this puzzles me as defecting to babylon the great always has been one the most worst offenses a jw could possibly commit.. could this be a case of local elders interpreting/applying things their own way or is there a (new) general policy trending ?.
anyone who knows about similar cases ?.

Alot has been happening to me these past few months. I feel like I am ready to just give up, and do my own thing with my family .I can't take the texts from family that say "sit with the family and "read todays watchtower", or "read todays text" I feel like saying "read the latest law suits online. or read about Ties with the UN. or "why does the GB, feel the need to be above Jesus?" I was going to try and just fade, but I dont think that is gonna happen anymore. A few of my family know how i feel, and that me and my family have not been to meetings in months, and been laying guilt trip in a big way. And If i hear one more "the convention videos are the best" I am gonna freak and say, Yeh I saw them on Apostate Youtube clips..HAHA BTW, My wife has been very supportive..

What to say? I Don't want to go to meetings anymore?
by Drifting Away inso it has been a couple of months since me and my family have attended a meeting.
we have received a few calls and visits.
but what do you say when people ask "where have you been"?

Thanks for all your responses, Huge fan of office space.
Usually I just say" We are doing good, how are you guys", and dont give them a chance to pry into my personal life. Funny thing is the elders have not asked me why I am not going, they just stopped by to say hi and encourage. I have said " We are doing fantastic, thanks for asking" and I think they think we should be depressed, when in all honesty we have never been happier.

So it has been a couple of months since me and my family have attended a meeting. We have received a few calls and visits. But what do you say when people ask "Where have you been"? It is so odd and awkward..

When a crime is commited?
by Drifting Away ini responded to someone on another thread, but would love to know this answer.. if a victim adult or child goes to elders and claims they were abused, don't they have to have clergy confidentiality?
so i was told that they encourage the victim to contact authorities , and they contact bethel, but arent there hands tied if the victim does not want to go to authorities?
an elder made the comment to me once.

Door to Door
by Drifting Away ini hear my wife say to me " we are the only religion that does the will of god , and that is to preach door to door, and speak about gods kingdom" and in one sense she is correct, i know there are others that preach door to door, but then someone told me door to door, does not literally mean door to door in modern times.
i was confused, has anyone ever heard of this before?
